The Omni Intelligencer welcomes 'Pratham Books'

We at The Omni Intelligencer are pleased to welcome the team of Pratham Books to our community of content contributors. We requested that they post articles keeping us abreast of the ongoing work they do, putting books into the hands of children who other wise would not have that experience, and they have graciously accepted.
Pratham has effectively utilized social media to assist in reaching an amazing number of children already. Many, many books have been given, as described in this blog post from their website, to children by children via their mobile library, or 'Boi Gari', (Books Van), in rural areas.
Aside from the obvious benefits of relaying basic information and data, reading provides the avenue through which children 'step into the shoes of another' and become aware of their experiences. Children who become aware of other experiences become more caring, compassionate and understanding thereby shaping a more cohesive and functional world. Stretching boundaries for children, regarding their future possibilities, is a wonderful gift which we are happy to support. We firmly believe that ‘Reading IS the magic key….that takes you where you want to be.’
