Of the gazillions of thoughts I could be thinking at any moment, why would I choose to focus my attention on things that are upsetting?

Why would I painfully review my own mistakes and those of others? Why would I scare myself over possible worst-case scenarios?

Habit, mainly. I’m adept at letting my mind go wherever reality seems to beckon. That’s the way that most people process life, and that’s the way that I learned, early-on.

But now I have the key to explaining life’s proverbial mysteries and manifesting my heart’s desires. Now I know that everything hinges on (drum roll, please!) mental focus.

Every day now, I commit anew to removing my mind from the scary stuff, the hurtful stuff, the icky stuff. Every day, I focus a little more on what’s going right. Every day, I insert more optimism, appreciation, and pure, unadulterated laughter into my experience.

Old habits may die hard, but as I place regular, concerted effort into becoming more positive, I can put far less effort into all other areas of life, for all other areas of life will begin to work like magic.
